Where to start!

I currently have a PC Electronics TC70-1d typically transmitting on Channel 59 (434.000 MHz). I'm based in Los Angeles and the nearest ATN repeaters are 23 miles  and 73 miles from my shack and have a Tram 1411 Discone antenna that can handle up to 200 watts. A directional yagi may help but the RF environment of the city is fairly noisy regardless. Currently I can break squelch on the repeater but only with static.

I was looking for an amplifier to get a better signal and saw the PA5 Linear Amplifier board, would this work with my current setup? Could I couple this with a future DVB-T transmitting too? Could I use a standard 70cm UHF amplifier from Ham Radio Outlet?

Does anyone other recommendations for amplifiers or transmitters?

Hi Brock. Since nobody responded to your inquiry I thought I'd give you a shot. Your TC70-1d is a 70 cm transmit and receive device. Our repeaters are set up for cross band operation, so I'm not sure what your referring to about "Breaking Squelch"? For 434 MHz analog VSB input, output is at 1.2 GHz VSB. You can see the actual frequencies under the Repeater section of this site. PC Electronics has quite a few good articles on Ham TV which you should read. I could write for hours about your other questions, but if you want it would be a lot easier if you just call me and I could answer all your questions and point you in the right direction.
